Noosa National Park

Work commitments meant that Nick was heading up to Noosa for the day, so I hitched a ride with him. It was a stunning winters day so after breakfast on the Noosavile waterfront I drove over to Noosa to walk the National Park.

The Coastal Track wound its around the headland and offered spectacular views from several lookouts along the track. Along the way I passed the beaches of Tea Tree Bay, a pandanus-lined sandy beach, the more rocky Granite Bay, historic Winch Cove and the sweeping Alexandria Bay.

The coastal rock formations of Boiling Pot and in particular Hells Gate below Hells Bluff were worth the walk. Today, in perfect weather, they were quite benign but it was easy to imagine in rough weather the force of the waves crashing onto the rocks below.

Leaving Alexandria Bay I entered the forest and followed the Tanglewood Track back to the carpark
